How many of you have had the opportunity to spend time with seniors over 105? Today, I had lunch with Mr. Bernando Lapollo, who turned 111 years old in August. He is one of the award recipients at the Senior Awards Luncheon He is not only a man with great wisdom and many accomplishments, but is very active mentally and physically. Join us on Friday, October 26 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel when he is presented with the Life Team Achievement Award. Come and learn about his guiding principles for life.
Beginning in August, Gregory’s Fresh Market will bring the farmers market to senior mobile home park communities. The first visit is at Desert Skies Mobile Home Park where there are 175 sites. We look forward to educating this senior community about healthy eating and making fresh produce accessible. Stay tuned for updates.

Even as we grow older, the human brain is still capable adapting, rewiring and growing new neurons. Eating healthy, taking walks and reading a good book are just some of the ways to continue to enjoy life.
Gregory’s Fresh Market Place (GFMP) is enriching lives and assisting people in achieving healthy eating through access to fresh produce and promoting nutrition with on-site farmers markets in independent living facilities. We offer nutrition education classes with food demonstrations, exercise and fitness classes. To date, GFMP has served over 5,000 seniors in the Greater Phoenix area. The senior locations serviced by GFMP average between 100 to 450 residents.

The veterans at The Salvation Army Laura Danieli Senior Activity Center don’t think of Memorial Day as just a day off. The 5 of them have served our country and know that this day is meant to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces. The Veterans were acknowledged for their service during the Senior Health and Wellness Series, sponsored by Walgreens. Not only did the veterans receive a complimentary bag of fresh produce from Gregory’s Fresh Market Place provided by Walgreens, they also received Walgreens blankets and a gift card.
